Today I really want to focus on cholesterol. There’s a lot of misunderstanding, a lot of fear when it comes to cholesterol.

The first and most important thing to understand about cholesterol is that it’s a good thing. If your cholesterol is elevated, that means your body is working on healing.

Cholesterol is specifically produced by your liver as a response to damage somewhere in your body. And the normal physiological healing response is to release cholesterol into the bloodstream to help repair whatever’s been damaged.

3 Questions to Ask if You Have High Cholesterol

Why is My Cholesterol High?

If you do have elevated cholesterol, the first question you want to ask yourself is why? A lot of people, get a high cholesterol reading from a blood test or a physical so they go to their medical doctor and are diagnosed and given some type of a medication to lower their cholesterol. The issue with this is it’s not addressing the cause or why that cholesterol is high in the first place. It’s only taking a look at the symptom.

What is the Effect to My Health of Not Addressing the Cause of the High Cholesterol?

Now the second question you want to look at is if there is a cause and it’s not being addressed, what is the effect on my long term and short term health? If you have damage somewhere in your body that’s creating inflammation, that’s stimulating the response of cholesterol being released and now you’re taking a chemical into your body, a medication that lowers that cholesterol, but the damage and the cause is still there. Your body is getting sicker on the inside.

And if you look at the disclaimers and warning signs of any one of these medications, it specifically says not preventing heart disease or heart attack in any way. All it’s doing is making your cholesterol numbers look better.

What are the Side Effects of the Medication?

Now number three, what are the side effects of these medications? Every medication has at least 70 side effects!

Cholesterol medication specifically causes muscle wasting and digestive issues. It causes degeneration of the brain and weakening of your immune system. Statins specifically have been shown to reduce coQ10 which is a part of the energy production of your cells leading to accelerated aging and creating sick cells in your body.

Cholesterol medication is actually one of the most dangerous medications out there you can take!

Drug Free Solutions to High Cholesterol

So if you’re looking for a more natural drug free solution, that’s what we do. That’s what the five essentials of Max Living are all about.

  • That’s healthy chiropractic care to actually address the causes of inflammation and create a healthy brain and nervous system so everything’s working the way it should.
  • Creating a healthy mindset to reducing stresses which again reduces the stress response and inflammation across the body.
  • Number three is better nutrition, more alkaline diet versus acidic to actually build things up with high levels of nutrients like potassium and magnesium, high levels of essential fatty acids.
  • Plenty of exercise which circulates areas in the body, reduces inflammation, improves heart health
  • Avoiding toxins, which is another form of chemical stress.
