Probiotics. It’s a big buzzword in the natural health community.
Why?
We all know that probiotics are really great for us! They’re on commercials, they’re all over Whole Foods and Sprouts and all these healthy markets. I’ve even seen them in some pharmacies.

Probiotic Strains
The thing about probiotics is that whenever you’re taking a probiotic, the strain is actually predetermined for you. Probiotics often contain common strains like lactobacillus.
But when you take a probiotic you are putting a strain in our body that may not necessarily be the strain that your body needs.
That’s why prebiotics are a better choice! Prebiotics is what we’re transitioning to in our household.
How Prebiotics Support Your Digestive System Better than Probiotics
Prebiotics help support your digestive system and they allow your body to innately choose what strains it needs. If I was putting a probiotic in my system, I may not need that specific strain, but a prebiotic allows your body to develop its own microbiome and choose what strain you need.
Some sources of prebiotics are the brand, Ambrotose. You can also support prebiotics by juicing, any type of fermented foods like Kimchi, Kombucha, beet cabbas, sauerkraut, and Kiefer. These are really great ways to introduce more prebiotics into your system.
With prebiotics your body can innately choose what gut flora it wants to proliferate in order to support your system better.
