Are you looking for a way to lose weight effectively? To have abundant energy throughout the day? To put on lean muscle mass? To be the best you everyday?
When it comes to nutrition, there’s a ton of fad weight loss diets out there.
- Weight Watchers
- Jenny Craig
- and many more.
Some people do lose weight on those programs. And some people do meet some of their intended outcomes. However many times it’s not a healthy way to lose weight.
- There’s a lot of toxicity.
- Most of the results are short lived. Even if you lose 10 or 15 pounds you gain 20 back.
One of the methods that I teach people on a regular basis, especially those who are struggling with any blood sugar issues, any energy related issues, chronic health conditions, and especially weight loss resistance is the ketogenic diet. I can show you how to lose weight with the Ketogenic diet permanently!
What is the Ketogenic Diet?
A lot of people have heard of the Ketogenic diet, but many do not understand how it works. There’s a couple of key things that you can do to start moving towards ketosis on a regular basis.
Ketosis means that your body is burning fat for energy instead of burning sugar for energy. This is much more sustainable. It allows your body to start burning fat throughout the day all the time. Fat is the primary source of fuel for your brain and nervous system.
So how does that work?
First of all the distribution of the food that you take in is so important. You always want to make sure that you’re getting organic healthy food. Food from a natural resource. That’s a given no matter what.
When it comes to the proportions of food, I don’t want you counting calories or worrying about how much you’re eating. It’s about WHAT you’re eating.
First of all, you have to eat predominantly fats. 70-80% of your intake of nutrition must be fat to get your body into ketosis. That’s good, healthy fat from things like:
- coconut oil
- olive oil
- good healthy nuts and seeds
- avocados
- raw organic dairy
- certain types of meats and proteins.
You need fat to burn fat. You need fat for primary sources of energy.
Number two would be 10-15% proteins. You don’t want a lot because excess protein becomes sugar. Sugar becomes fat and it affects your function.
So what you want to do is you want to actually limit your proteins. Get more complex lean proteins or good healthy fatty proteins like grass fed beef or fish. Wild caught fish is a great source of fat and protein together.
Finally you should only consume 5-10% carbohydrates. Completely cut out any type of simple carbohydrates. Cut out all processed foods and sugars. All of your carbs should be coming from vegetables.
I know it seems low. You’re probably thinking that’s crazy. That’s absolutely what you need.
- 5-10% carbohydrates
- 10-15 percent proteins
- 70 to 80 percent fats
That’s what ketosis is all about.
