If your life is anything like mine, your life is busy, and it is easy to justify putting off important things that are not urgent. When pressing issues come up that are urgent it seems that there is not enough time to work out, eat right, make your appointments, complete your home care, and take personal relaxation time. We have all been there when it just seems like there is not enough time in the day and you are constantly being asked to do more with less!
I have experienced this at times in my own life and I know how easy it is to get off track, just miss a workout here or there, I will make up my adjustment next week, and I will get back on track next month… Always with the best intention in mind. Unfortunately, you know as well as I do that even the best intentions do not always become a reality.
Are You Too Busy to Make Your Health a Priority?
A recent patient brought this to light for me this past week. She explained to me how she has been working on getting back in the office for regular adjustments and back on track with her health. Finally, her issues were bad enough and she was in enough pain that she decided to come back into the office. She had headaches almost daily, back pain, shoulder pain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, poor sleep, allergies, kidney issues, and multiple medications.
After taking x-rays I found her spinal subluxations were worse than when she was coming into the office on a regular basis, so it made sense why she was so sick. When I talked to her about what we found she told me that she knew she needed the care, but her health was not a priority and she was just TOO BUSY.

I asked her what it would have to take and how bad it had to get before she cared enough about her health to do something to change her life. What is the result of this type of mentality?

Your body doesn’t care if you are not committed, if you don’t have the time, if you can’t afford it, or if you don’t believe in chiropractic; the result is that you are functioning below your optimum potential and moving further from health and closer to sickness and disease.
