Today I want to talk about not being a consumer of your health.
We live in such a consumer materialistic driven society where it’s buy, buy buy, use, use, use, short-term immediate gratification. I encourage you not to do this with your health.
There Is No Quick Fix For Your Health
Watch the video now! Prefer to read? Here’s the gist of what else Dr. Tim spoke about in this video clip.
Health is not something that can be consumed.
Health is not something that happens one time.
There is no quick fix.
There is no silver bullet.
There is no magic button.
Health can’t come from a pill.
There’s no amazing program that you’re going to be able to do this week that’s going to get you healthy for the next 10 years.
It just does not happen.
That’s why here in our office, our goal is lifetime family wellness. Every patient comes in for a different reason.
- Maybe it’s for pain.
- Maybe it’s for health challenges.
- Maybe it’s for overcoming a major concern of stress or an injury.
Whatever the reason may be. The goal isn’t just to get you out of that acute situation. It’s to help your body recover naturally through the Five Essentials of Max Living and to help create the behavior and lifestyle necessary to change you into what would be considered a healthy person.
Because change happens over time. It happens with consistency. It happens with habits and behaviors. That’s how you really achieve health goals.
The Long Term Goal Is Always Improving Your Health Through Consistent Action
You may have short term things you want to work on. But the long term goal always needs to be about being better. If you make 1% improvement each day, you’re 37 times better over the course of a year.
It’s the consistency of those small changes compounded over time that really creates success. And not just your health, but in any area of your life.
If you want to be a good mom or dad, a good husband or a wife, a good friend, good boss, a good employee. Whatever that may be, that doesn’t happen by doing just one good thing. It doesn’t happen just because you showed up yesterday.
Invest In Your Health
Better health happens because you do it consistently. You invest in it regularly.
Health is one of those things that needs to be invested in, it cannot be bought. You can’t just buy a supplement and do a one time thing and that’s it.
You can’t just do vitamin D last month and then you’re good. You do vitamin D every month.
You can’t just get adjusted last week and then you’re good for the next month. You get adjusted again this week.
Just because you did your home exercises two weeks ago doesn’t mean you’re good now.
You keep doing it. You keep showing up, you keep putting in the work, and then what you see is you see this trend of growth. now. .
Now there may be ups and downs along the way. That happens. There’s seasons of life. You may have seasons where you’re more stressed or less stressed, where you’re putting more time in your health and when you’re just maintaining, and that’s OK as long as you’re always focused on it.
There is no short term solution. Health can only be done long term. I’ve been doing this for over 12 years now. I’ve worked with thousands and thousands of patients and I’ve been a patient of chiropractic myself now for over 20 years.
And what I find is those people who embrace the idea of health as a long term thing, by changing behaviors and lifestyle and being consistent, by far get the greatest results. They feel the best, they function the best, they get sick the least often. They very rarely go to the doctor, if at all. And they live an amazing life.
That also changes the things around them. They have a better family life. They’re better in the things that they enjoy. They’re living life at a higher level. And they attributed a lot to chiropractic and these five essentials. Not because that solved all their problems. It’s because it was a pathway to living a better life.
Don’t Be a Consumer of Your Health
I encourage each and every one of you today as you’re watching this, as you’re sharing it with other people, and as you’re looking at where you invest your time, your energy and your resources….Don’t be a consumer of your health!
You can’t buy your way out of being sick. There is no quick fix, no pill, no stretch, no exercise that’s going to take care of all your problems. And just because you did it yesterday doesn’t mean it’s going to continue to work tomorrow, next week, next year and five years from now. So don’t quit. Stick with it. Keep investing.
Be a chiropractic patient for the rest of your life, whether that’s here, in our office or somewhere else. Always be living these essentials and focus on getting better. And let us know how we can help you.
Get engaged in the five essentials this year. Show up to workshops. Pick up the newsletter each week. Read the emails. Take the time to invest in these areas. Plan that out, schedule it, make it a priority, and I can’t wait to see how it improves your life for you and your family.
